Double cross universal joints consist of two standard cross-type joints connected in series with a center yoke, enabling substantially larger operating angles up to 70 degrees combined. This configuration reduces angular acceleration fluctuations and vibration compared to single joints. Designed for heavy-duty applications, these joints are found in long-haul truck drive lines, construction equipment articulated steering, marine propulsion shafts, and mining machinery where high torque and extreme articulation angles coexist.
